“I Love American Pistachios” Social Media Blitz in China

The use of short videos in social media is a growing trend, and they are especially popular in China. To raise awareness of the benefits of pistachios for women with gestational diabetes, APG created a miniseries titled, “I Love American Pistachios,” using short videos. The storyline is about a couple who meets, falls in love, marries, gets pregnant and has a healthy baby--all thanks to American pistachios. Each video promotes American pistachios as the perfect gift for love, a healthy pregnancy and a happy family. More than 17 million Chinese consumers viewed APG’s “I Love American Pistachios” social media blitz.

American Pistachio Growers threw a pistachio party at the Clovis Farmer's Market in September. Chefs from the Institute of Technology created pistachio dishes including pistachio bark, pistachio cookies and pistachio pie for booth visitors to sample. Several local vendors joined the party by sharing their own pistachio treats.
